Confined in golden aviary,

The Nightingale sings

Her song of Freedom.

Shackled and chained

In Gold with embedded stones

She was there,

For the society, to entertain.

She sang about

The wings,

The stars,

The open sky.

She longed to taste,

The crisp fresh air.

People admired,

Her voice

But, never understood

Her songs.

Little did she know…

Soon Her fate would change.

She kept crying,

And hid Her sad voice

In the sound of storm and rain.

She cried,

Till Her voice grew hoarse.

She had now lost

Her own voice.

That night was dark,

Darker than a man’s heart.

Two balls of light

Flew past Her,

Left Her stupefied.

The bright spherical lights,

Transformed into tiny human

Like figures.

They unlocked the cage,

Broke the shackles,

And freed Her from

The restraint of the gold chains.

She was afraid,

To come out.

They hugged Her,

And held Her close

Wiped Her tears.

Magic seemed to be in the air.

Fresh new wings

Grew, replaced the old chipped ones.

They encouraged Her to take,

Her first flight.

She flew like an eagle,

Soaring high in the sky.

She tasted the,

Knowledge and freedom

She was deprived of.

She could see,

Her angels jumping with joy

And applauding Her.

Guardians held,

Her hands

Till she grew old.

Her wrinkles spoke about

The angels, even after

They were long gone.

Smile never left,

Her face.

She became an angel,

For the tiny little buds

That grew in Her garden.

She told the young world,

About Her angels.

“They are my Teachers,

my Guardians.

They are my Aurora Borealis,

that enlightened my soul.

Be a candle

that burns at both the ends,

you might not last a single night

but, the lovely light you give, will remove

the clouds of sorrow and darkness, and

will scare storms away.” said the Nightingale.

Her last words

Still echo in my ears.

The Nightingale and Her Guardians (Teachers),

Became my Aurora Borealis.
