Just Believe

Genesis 1:3
And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

Feel the wind gust,

through those broken wings.

Listen to the roar of laughter.

They encircle you,

try to chain the spirit that

dwells within you.

The sticks and stones,

may break your bones.

But, stand there strong.

They’ll belabour your

dreams, ruthlessly.

Be a stone wall.

Hear the pounding

of your heart.

Hear the blood rushing

in your veins.

Stand up.

Gather all the memories,

all the courage.

Beat them,

in their own game.

Leave them behind,

soar high, in the sky.

The soils you tilled,

the water you poured,

the love you deluged

will tear the Earth to its core.

Just believe,

in all the good things inside you.

All you have to do is

Shower of lightening,

clouds growl at your success,

waves crash in dismay.

Sailing through the roughest seas,

they see your healing scars.

You are the leader.

Born to lead.

Set sail with,

your cloak of freedom.

Watch them vanquish,

watch them perish,

watch them fall,

in the holes they

dug for you.

Don’t be evil,

Don’t harm others.

There is light,

even in the darkest corners.

Be patient.

Be yourself.

Just believe in yourself,

you’ll reach the sky.

Just Believe.

  1. I like the way you started off your poem with one of the strongest quotation from the bible. That itself highlights the power one possesses from within.
But a doubt..why “chain the spirit”? Thought ‘tame’ might work better… 😉
Yet indeed, good job… Continue to ignite n inspire people 😙

    • Here …the haters are trying to chain the spirit…if I would have written tame the spirit…the meaning of the poem would have changed…What I mean here is that, the people who don’t want a person to be successful will try to stop them no matter what…a chained soul cannot fight….but tamed one could have fought and tried to achieve what one wants.

And thank you so much 😘😘😘
